Economic Calendar is one of the most important tools for traders. To get more info click here: http://www.dailyfx.com/calendar Why is the economic calendar so important to traders? That's because prices move fast in the forex market, very fast. Since the market never closes and the value of currencies can be more sensitive to macroeconomic global trends, the forex market can offer significant volatility for retail and institutional traders. Nowhere is this volatility more apparent than when major data announcements get delivered. Non-farm payrolls or NFP, is traditionally a big mover in the FX market. It's published on the first Friday of every month and this lists the number of jobs added in the US economy for the month prior. This is often the first look that the market gets on the most recently completed month and this can bring massive volatility to markets around the world. When NFP or non-farm payrolls get announced, prices can move very fast. Volatility can increase massively and stops can get hit before we even know what's happening. This is why it's so important for a trader to stay abreast of the economic calendar. There's no place to do that better than DailyFX. At DailyFX, we keep our economic calendar up to date with the news events that matter. We even categorize those calendar events by perceived level of importance and each economic announcement includes a description about what it is and what traders traditionally should watch for. We list the estimate or expected number so that traders know what to look for going into the news. This page is really very easy to customize. You can set the economic calendar up to automatically display in your time zone of preference and you can choose which events are displayed by indicating the importance or currencies you like to see the news for. So, bookmark the economic calendar page and come back each and every morning before you start trading so you know where volatility may impact your trades and your plan. Friday brings a number of known market movers, so let's take a closer look with the Economic Calendar. German Trade Balance for October is up first at 7 o'clock, and trade surplus widened in September as exports fell less than imports. Two news releases regarding the British economy in October will be available at half past 9, including the Industrial Production. Output has been growing more than expected for the past 3 months. Trade Deficit narrowed in September as decreased exports to non-EU countries were reversed by growth in exports to EU countries. And Bank of England Quarterly Consumer Inflation Expectations are out at the same time. The previous report was released in September and noted the same expected 2.8% annual inflation as the previous quarter. Coming up next at 1 PM GMT is the UK NIESR Monthly GDP Estimate for November. The October report noted a slightly faster economic growth than the point 4% gain during the 3 months up to September. Canadian Housing Starts for November will be available at quarter past 1, and the number of housing starts saw little change in October, remaining near its six-month moving average. The closely watched US Employment Report for November follows at half past 1. The October report noted a stronger job growth, which nevertheless was smaller than anticipated; moreover, wage growth surprised on the downside. The high importance preliminary estimate of University of Michigan Consumer Confidence for December will be available at 3. The Index slipped unexpectedly in November in light of inflation concerns. And finally, there's the Chinese November CPI and PPI, which are both out at 1:30 AM. The annual consumer price inflation picked up speed in October, whereas producer prices continued growing at the same pace as a month ago. I'm Kiays Khalil and this was the Economic Calendar for Friday, the 8th of December. Check back in for the next overview of news releases for Monday. Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy economic calendar of the week. Each week our news analysts review the upcoming economic events that you should be monitoring. The US dollar had another positive week, enjoying some good data. UK and US inflation data, housing figures and most importantly the FOMC Meeting Minutes stand out. These are the highlights of this week. Join us as we explore the market movers on Forex calendar. US jobless claims posted a higher than expected reading of 294,000. The 20,000 addition reached the highest level since February 2015. However, the positive trend that began early in May continued for the dollar, especially as retail sales beat expectations, something that doesn’t usually happen. The fear of a Brexit, highlighted by the BOE, is one possible reason to wait. This week’s crop of economic data manages to strike a pleasing balance between volume and importance. Almost every day there is enough of sufficient importance to warrant investor’s attention, without overwhelming them in frequency. US data includes Fed minutes and CPI numbers, with the former particularly interesting. If the doves on the FOMC were in the ascendancy at the last meeting, then subsequent US data will only have emboldened them to keep on warning about the dangers of higher rates. U.S. consumer prices barely moved in March rising 0.1% showing little reason for interest rate hikes in the near future. The lukewarm inflation figures do not reflect the ongoing improvement in the job market. The CPI declined 0.2% in February. CPI is forecasted to rise 0.4% while core prices are estimated to climb 0.2% this time. UK data also comes into focus, including CPI numbers and employment figures; Brexit dominated last week, but with the UK economy still lackluster, the focus will be on whether there is any improvement in underlying data. Employment numbers will keep trader’s attention in the UK this week. The number of people receiving jobless benefits increased by 6,700 in March, missing predictions for an 11,900 cut. The jobless-claims rate remained at 2.1%. BOE said recruitment in April was nearly unchanged showing muted employment growth. Meanwhile, U.K. unemployment edged up for the first time in seven months and employers added fewer jobs than forecast, suggesting the labor market is losing momentum. The number of people looking for work climbed by 21,000 to 1.7 million in the three months through February. In light of these figures, the Bank of England is in no hurry to raise interest rates anytime soon and the June 23 EU vote is starting to weigh on UK economic growth. The amount of people receiving jobless benefits is expected to rise by 4,100 in April. With no Federal Reserve meeting until late June Fed speaker’s hawkish tones have helped the US dollar rally. This week all eyes will focus on the Fed minutes. These are the meeting minutes from the April decision, in which the Fed left policy unchanged, acknowledged some improvement but did provide any hike hints. The chances for a rate hike in June dropped after that meeting but since then, data has improved. So, this is an opportunity for the Fed to hint about raising rates in June, if this is indeed the case, and it’s quite unclear that this a real option for the doves that control the Fed. It is important to remember that the minutes are edited until the last moment, allowing the Fed to sharpen any message. By Barry Norman, Investors Trading Academy - ITA

ECB Thursday is here, so let’s take a look at the potential market movers with the Dukascopy Economic Calendar. German Industrial Production for July opens this agenda at 6 o’clock in the morning. Production remains volatile as May’s increase was almost fully wiped out in June. UK Halifax House Price Index for August is up next at 7:30 AM. Prices increased by point 4% in July, reclaiming some of the ground lost in June. Second quarter revised Euro Zone GDP is up next at 9 AM. According to flash report, the 19-member state bloc’s economy expanded by point 6% in the quarter to June, when compared with the same period a year ago. Next up is the real Euro mover – European Central Bank Monetary Policy announcement at 11:45, followed by the press conference at a half past noon GMT. Mario Draghi has previously stated discussion on quantitative easing will happen in autumn, so perhaps September? As we approach the second half of the day, it’s time to head over the Atlantic for North American data run. Revised second quarter US productivity and costs is one of the three reports out at a half past noon GMT. According to preliminary data, Nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased by point 9%, while costs were up by point 6%. US jobless claims report is the second item out at this time. Initial claims edged slightly higher by one thousand in the week ending 2nd of September. Canadian building permits for July is the final of the three reports at a half past noon. Permits increased by 2 and a half percent in June, building on May’s double digit advance. North American data run continues at 2 PM GMT with a couple more reports, including the US economic optimism for September. Optimism surprised on upside in August as the index jumped by 2 points. Canadian Ivey PMI for August is the second report available at 2 PM. Index has been hovering near the 60 point mark after dropping briefly in May. Finalized Japanese GDP for second quarter will be available at ten to midnight. Flash report showed a solid quarterly growth of 1%, beating estimates for a point 6% increase. Australian housing finance for July wraps up this agenda at 1:30 in the morning. Finance approvals have edged higher for two months in a row now and another rise is expected this time around as well. I’m Jack Everitt and that’s all for Thursday’s news reports, but do click back for Friday’s run-down. Goodbye. Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy economic calendar of the week. Each week our news analysts review the upcoming economic events that you should be monitoring. The new year got off wrong footed with global stocks getting beat up and Chinese data released on the 1st of January printing a bit soft. Activity in China's manufacturing sector contracted for a fifth straight month in December, an official survey showed on Friday, reinforcing fears the world's second-largest economy may be stuck in a protracted slowdown despite a flurry of stimulus measures. While China's services sector ended 2015 on a strong note, the economy still looked set to grow at its slowest pace in a quarter of a century, suggesting the government will have to step up support in 2016 to revive activity. December was a month which saw severe pressure being piled on the commodity sector and the outlook for early 2016 is equally gloomy. Economic indicators from China will be carefully watched in the week ahead as the slowdown in the second-largest economy in the world is likely to remain in the news. It was the European Central Bank that surprised the market this month and not the Federal Reserve, and dealers will be wondering if Mario Draghi’s relatively small extension to the quantitative easing scheme will be enough to turn the region around. Janet Yellen won’t want to rush another rate hike, and the jobs report on Friday will be the highlight of next week. A private gauge of Chinese manufacturing Caixin/Markit PMI, which focuses more on small-to-medium-sized private firms, will be released on Jan.4. China is set to release fourth quarter and full-year GDP data on Jan. 19. The week is chugged full of events which should keep traders busy as they return from the long holidays. Monday will see them monthly array of PMI data from the Eurozone countries and the overall Eurozone as well as the UK and the US. Also German inflation data will hit the wires. Tuesday traders will get a look at German jobs data as well as the overall Eurozone inflation data which could spark some volatility in the euro crosses. Wednesday Asia is hot with Japanese and Chinese services PMI data as well as the European countries. Also Wednesday the US is busy as ADP releases payroll data ahead of Friday’s nonfarm jobs report. Also US trade balance numbers are due. And of course traders around the globe will keep a close eye on the weekly EIA crude oil inventory. Later in the day traders will focus on the FOMC minutes from the December meeting when the committee raised rates. Thursday brings German factory orders which are expected to show a rise as well as Eurozone retail sales and unemployment. Friday morning Australia releases its first official data with retail sales expected to climb to 0.4% and then focus will shift to the monthly jobs data from the US. Jobs are expected to fall to 200,000 from 211,000. Unemployment is expected to remain at 5%. This week even Saturday will be a big day with Chinese releasing December inflation data.
